MY CUPRA TEA

For 3 years, I defined and directed the user experience and visual design for SEAT's mobile websites. I also created digital experiences for owners, motor shows and created strategies for native apps and connected car programmes.

Irrelevant fact: I have owned 3 SEAT's and I LOVE the brand. I'm ashamed to say I did a lot of fanboying during this time...

Part of the program of work was to create the mobile web experiences for the launch of the new Leon range of car. The brief was clear: deliver on their new brand/product positioning of Enjoyneering. To do this, each mobile site needed to be cutting-edge and unique, to reflect both the technology used in the cars and the experience of driving it.

The result. Award-winning mobile web sites that utilise native phone features like the accelerometer and gyroscope to create immersive and intuitive user experiences.

For the Frankfurt Motor Show, I designed a game for the SEAT stand. Using the arcade classic Super Sprint as visual inspiration, the aim of the game was to race a SEAT Ibiza Cupra around a track by answering questions on SEAT as quickly as possible - the more you answered correctly the faster and further you would travel. We used a ghost car to highlight the best score of the day and to act as motivation for the next player to try to beat. There were cash prizes for the best distances and it certainly drew attention as over 15,000 people played, across multiple instances, over the 5 days of the show.

In addition to creating marketing and advertising assets, I also defined strategies for their native apps and their connected car work stream and created design systems and UI style guides.
